Karen Traviss

Karen Traviss is the author of several Star Wars novels (including the "Republic Commando" series) and the originator of the ridiculous figure of three million clones for the entire Republic Army. She is also guilty of extreme Mando-wanking and all-around bad writing, including the resurrection of Admiral Daala and the death of Gilead Pellaeon.

Credentials

Karen Traviss has attempted to present her previous jobs with the Royal Navy Auxiliary Service and the Territorial Army as credentials for why her outline of the force structure for the Grand Army of the Republic is acceptable from a military point of view. The RNXS appears to have operated in a FEMA-like role for harbor evacuations, and her description of her duties indicates that she was a deck seaman. In the United States Navy, these are the least qualified personnel, not trusted even to cook. She then served "briefly" in the Territorial Army as a media specialist. As she did not serve in a significant capacity in a combat arms branch, her military credentials cannot reasonably be used to justify her proposed Grand Army of the Republic force structure.

In Cauda Venenum

She once threatened to "rip out the tracheas" of her critics, which seems to be an odd comment for a "media specialist" to make. [1]
