Commander Jeffrey Sinclair was the first commander of the space station Babylon 5. At the request of the Minbari Federation, he was reassigned as Earth's ambassador to the Minbari Federation after one year of service on Babylon 5.
History
Sinclair came to prominence as Starfury squadron leader at the Battle of the Line. With his fighter damaged, he attempted to ram the Minbari flagship, but the Minbari captured the ship with a tractor beam and brought him onboard. On the flagship, the Grey Council examined him with the Triluminary, a Minbari religious artifact associated with Valen, a Minbari hero, that reacted to his descendants. The Triluminary reacted so strongly to Sinclair that the Minbari were forced to conclude that Sinclair was Valen reincarnated. This revelation caused the Minbari to immediately stop their attacks and surrender to the Earth Alliance.
