The Galaxy class was first introduced in the late 2350s/early 2360s as one of the most advanced ships in the Federation. The class is extremely massive compared to most starships. By the year 2371, three Galaxy-class Ships were destroyed: the USS Yamato, USS Odyssey, and USS Enteprise-D. Galaxy-class starships fought in notably in Dominion War battles such as Operation Return, the Raid on Torros 3, The 1st Battle of Chin'toka, and the Battle of Cardassia.
