A fandom refers to a body of people which are united in some common interest of leisure. Fandoms range from sports to fashion to fiction and can be either broad or focused. In the case of SD.net, science fiction and fantasy related fandoms are most prevalent.
Among any fandom of size, you will ineviably get some fanwhores and other bad eggs.
