Zombie refer to a catagory of undead/undeadlike creatures in fiction.

Characteristics

Zombies are re-animated corpses. Unlike (at least modern) Vampires, Zombies are generally subject to decay and have higly limited intelligence. In the source myths Zombies are summoned to serve various magi. In modern fiction, Zombies are re-animated by things such as Radiation, Chemical Compounds or Micro-organisms and possess limitive cognative abilities, with a primary drive to kill and eat uninfected humans. People who are biten by these creatures die and come back as additional Zombies. Zombies generally don't feel pain and will press on regardless of damage. The most efficient way of destroying zombies is shooting them in the head.

Zombie Apocalypse

A common scenario in fiction is that of a Zombie Outbreak which threatens human civilization. However, such scenarios are unrealistic. Modern weapons technology (praticularly armor, belt fed automatic weapons, artillery and airpower) are more than capable of bringing down large numbers of Zombies. Despite this, a number of of Zombie Survivalist Fanwhores beleive that the military could not contain a largescale Zombie Outbreak.
