The USS Galaxy (NCC-70637) was a Federation starship and the prototype of the Galaxy-class starship. During the Dominion War, Galaxy saw action and survived some of the pivotal battles of the conflict, including the First Battle of Chin'toka (DS9: "Tears of the Prophets") in 2374, and the Battle of Cardassia in 2375. (DS9: "What You Leave Behind") In 2379, the ship was assigned to Starfleet Battle Group Omega.
