Timothy Zahn is the author of several Star Wars novels, particularly the Heir to the Empire trilogy.
While Zahn's writing is widely respected among Star Wars fans, he is still often criticized for minimalism in his depiction of Star Wars forces. Much of his writing used the early Star Wars RPG as a resource for technical information.
