* Because, unless I'm mistaken, that is what George Lucas says is the correct spelling. On the other hand, I looked it up on StarWars.com, and the article there spells it "lightsaber", so I guess it's a wash. "Correct" Spelling?
Why should we use almost never-used "lightsabre" spelling when "lightsaber" is used everywhere except apparently very early draft scripts (and some entry in the credits, IIRC)? - Because, unless I'm mistaken, that is what George Lucas says is the correct spelling. On the other hand, I looked it up on StarWars.com, and the article there spells it "lightsaber", so I guess it's a wash.
