Ted, "Conundrum" clearly establishes in dialog that the Galaxy-class starships carry 250 torpedoes, not 275. The 275 number is from the non-canon tech manual. This is what Worf says:

WORF: I have completed a survey of our tactical systems. We are equipped with ten phaser banks, two hundred and fifty photon torpedoes, and a high capacity shield grid.

You can confirm the dialog at Chrisse's Transcripts Site: http://www.chakoteya.net/NextGen/214.htm

Oh another thing, I'm deleting the bit about the saucer section containing the majority of the impulse power since there is nothing in BoBW that states that. Here's the dialog, again from Chrissie's Transcripts:

SHELBY: There is one other recommendation I'd like to make, Commander. Separate the saucer section. Assign a skeleton crew to create a diversion RIKER: We may need the power from the saucer impulse engines. SHELBY: But it would give them more than one target to worry about. RIKER: It's too great a risk.

Riker just thinks it's too risky, and he says they might need the power from the saucer impulse engines, but he does not quantify this. --Mike 02:01, 1 November 2012 (EDT)

  • But it's a risk specifically because of the power loss. --Ted C 06:22, 1 November 2012 (EDT)
    • Never stated a such, and later in BoBW2, the saucer is left highly vulnerable after it is used as a distraction at Wolf 359. That's the risk as demonstrated. It was lucky for the saucer section that the Borg (under Locutus) did not care and continued on it's way to Earth. --Mike 16:46, 1 November 2012 (EDT)
      • I just highlighted it in your own quote. --Ted C 17:04, 1 November 2012 (EDT)
        • RIKER: We may need the power from the saucer impulse engines. Your own quote torpedos you. If there was no need to make use of the power from the saucer's engines then it wouldn't have been mentioned. Moreover the saucer contains 2 out of 3 Impulse Engines on the ship meaning it contains the majority of those facilities. Also in DS9 the Odyssey had the option to leave behind the saucer section at DS9 instead opted to offload the civilians and leave the saucer in place.
          • After the saucer is used as a distraction the cube leaves for Earth without Locutus as rescuing him WAS THE POINT OF USING THE SAUCER in the first place. While he is still connected to the collective he isn't in charge while they have him sedated. They also do not attack the cube at Wolf359 but at an unspecified location close to Earth. --Isolder74 17:08, 1 November 2012 (EDT)
