I would dispute the idea that Daleks are a mechanical civilization, the Daleks themselves are organic creatures that don't nessisarily need life support and can act on their own.--Zor 04:18, 27 September 2010 (UTC)
Daleks are functionally cyborgs. Without their "robotic" bodies, they aren't very dangerous, and they almost never operate without their typical transport/manipulation/combat systems. --Ted C 13:59, 27 September 2010 (UTC)
