A star is a large mass of matter (primarily hydrogen, but including more massive elements in the bigger ones) undergoing nuclear fusion and emitting massive amounts of light and radiation. Stars tend to have other massive objects orbiting them, a few of which have some interesting things on them. The minimum mass a star can be is .05 Solar Masses (Twenty times the mass of Jupiter). The mass of a star has a very noticable effect on how long the star lives and how brightly it burns.

Types of Star

  • Brown Dwarfs
  • Red Dwarfs (Wolf 359)
  • Orange Dwarfs (Epsilon Eridani)
  • Yellow Dwarfs (Sol)
  • Red Giants
  • Supergiants
  • Hypergiants
  • White Dwarfs
  • Neutron Stars
