In Star Wars, a senator is a representative in the Galactic Senate. On SDN, a senator is member of the Imperial Senate.

Senators on SDN

The Imperial Senate was an effort to give the SDN population additional input into major board decisions. Senators were nominated from the general populace of SDN and were all well-known and respected posters before their nomination. Senators helped the Moderators and Admin in setting policies of SDN, as well as suggesting improvements to the forum. Senators were also responsible for censure of troublesome forum participants.

Asking to be nominated for Senator was a sure way not to be nominated.
