Senators were nominated from the general populace of SDN and were all well-known and respected posters before their nomination. Senators helped the Moderators and Admin in setting policies of SDN, as well as suggesting improvements to the forum. Senators were also responsible for censure of troublesome forum participants.

Asking to be nominated for Senator was a sure way not to be nominated.
