The phased plasma gun (usually abbreviated to PPG) is a type of plasma-based small arm used in the Earth Alliance. PPGs fulfill most of the standard roles of military small arms: handguns, submachineguns, and rifles. The handgun sized PPG is rather compact, about the size of a real life derringer. A heavy machine gun apparently based on PPG technology was seen once in a vision of the future. (B5 "Babylon Squared")
