Nuclear War is the term used for any large-scale armed conflict which involves the use, by at least one side, of nuclear weapons. For most of the latter half of the 20th century, the US and USSR as well as their respective allies made preparations for such a conflict; since then, steps have been taken to reduce the risk of nuclear war through disarmament.

The discussion of - and pining for - nuclear war is a favoured past time of the HAB. When taken to extremes, this leads to nukesexualism.

Much hullaboo has been made over Nuclear Winter, and how it would end all life on earth.
