Naquadah is a grey metallic substance, although it can be processed into a Green Liquid. Naquedah contains a massive amount of potential energy. It is used as a power source and to enhance the explosive force of thermonuclear weapony. Goa'uld civilization is highly reliant on Naquedah, with many iron age level worlds in the Goa'uld Sphere of Influence being dedicated to mining the substance.

A more powerful and more unstable isotope of Naquedah exists known as Naquadriah. Naquadriah has a short half life and as such generally can't be mined.
