Mustafar is a remote planet in the Star Wars universe. The planet displays extraordinary volcanic activity, but it still supports life, hosts a sapient species, and possesses large deposits of valuable minerals. As such, it supplied material to the Confederacy of Independent Systems during the Clone Wars. Mustafar was the last place the Confederacy's leaders gathered before being slaughtered by Darth Vader at the end of the Clone Wars.

Darth Vader himself met defeat on Mustafar in a duel with Obi-Wan Kenobi that left him in need of constant life support for the rest of his life. He later built a fortress on Mustafar, where he kept servants and medical staff to assist him.[1]
