Missile spam is an informal term that refers to the act of firing large numbers of guided missiles against a target to overwhelm point defense systems.

Examples of Missile spam

  • In the Honorverse, lines of battle often fire off massive salvos of missiles to penetrate point defense networks.
  • Missile spam is common in the Macross universe
  • In real life, treaties limiting the use of anti-ballistic missile systems exist to prevent nuclear powers from building large numbers of warheads to counter ABM defenses.
