A cluster of black holes of unknown origin located near the Kessel Run. Inside the depths of the Maw Cluster lay the top secret Maw installation, set there because of the treacherous maneuvering required to reach the center.
One effect of the black holes is that runners of the Kessel Run can shorten time as well as space via dangerous routes or microjumps. The best known example of this is Han Solo achieving the run in less than 12 parsecs, a measure of distance, not time.
