On the Stardestroyer.net BBS, Michael Wong regularly deletes accounts whose post counts have remained at zero for more than a few months. It is a common misconception that an account, even one with hundreds of posts, will be deleted if it is idle for a long period but that is not the case.

To date there have ten major purges of zero-post accounts, plus a number of smaller purges, usually of accounts registered by commercial spammers.

  • November 28 2002 - The first zero-post account purge. ~200 accounts deleted.
  • May 10 2003 - The second zero-post account purge. >200 accounts deleted.
  • February 02 2004 - The third zero-post account purge. ~140 accounts deleted.
  • June 09 2004 - The fourth zero-post account purge. ~150 accounts deleted.
  • December 19 2004 - The fifth zero-post account purge. ~250 accounts deleted.
  • May 17 2005 - The sixth zero-post account purge. 264 accounts deleted.
  • February 05 2006 - The seventh zero-post account purge. ~270 accounts deleted.
  • April 04 2006 - The eighth zero-post account purge. 221 accounts deleted.
  • January 17 2007 - The ninth zero-post account purge. 1,120 accounts deleted.
  • September 19 2007 - The tenth zero-post account purge. 1,886 accounts deleted.
  • March 18, 2008 -The eleventh zero-post account purge. 1300 accounts deleted.

It is interesting to note the recent skyrocketing intensity of these purges. SDN was discovered by one or more commercial forum spammers from Russia and China, who, being the absolute scumbags they are, have set their spambots on trying to penetrate SDN. So far all they've accomplished is wasting their time, as well as that of SDN's Admins -- much to their anger.
