Malcolm Reed is a clumsy geek who likes to fool around with new military technologies. He tries to cover up his lack of genuine military experience with bluster, and he generally doesn't do too badly. He's fond of pineapples and explosions.
He was the weapons officer and security officer for the USS Enterprise, and he may have been the sanest officer on the ship.
