The Kroot are a species of Sapeint Humanoids and are part of the Tau Empire.

Atributes

Kroot are large lanky Humaniods desencended from Avian ansestors, they have Grey skin, dark quills and beaks. Kroot are very strong and quick creatures. Kroot are carnivorous and are more than willing to eat the corpses of defeated foes.

Kroot have the notable ability of being able to absorb the DNA of creatures that they have eaten. This allows Kroot to take on useful chareteristics, such as the Technological Instincts of Ork Mekboyz or the Agility of Eldar. This can be problematic, as several strains of Kroot lost sapience and degenerated into beastial forms such as Kroothounds and Krootoxen.

Orginization

Kroot Society is divided up into loose clans known as Kindreds, lead by figures known as Shapers. Shapers decide what Genetic Material is to be used to allow said kindred to evolve and develop praticular traits.

As part of the Tau Empire, the Kroot Provide Auxileries to fight alongside Fire Caste Forces.
