Captain Jonathan Archer is an emotionally unstable human with a grudge against the Vulcans, although he apparently has no problem trying to sleep with one. He tries to cover up his lack of diplomatic, leadership, and military skills with bluster, but generally fails. He likes beagles and genocide.[1]

Archer commanded the USS Enterprise for at least the first four years after its launch. He later became an admiral, and was alive during the academy years of the TOS crew.[2]
