During the Earth-Minbari War, Sheridan gained fame as the only EarthForce captain to destroy a Minbari Warcruiser in battle. To accomplish the task, he used nuclear warheads to mine an asteroid field, then sent a distress signal. The Minbari warcruiser Black Star and its escorts detected the signal and entered the asteroid field to finish what they expected to be a crippled warship, only to be destroyed by the mines[2].
