The Imperial Starfleet was a major tool Imperial galactic control. Created from the Republic fleet after the Jedi Purge, it rose to great prominence and power under the Emperor's reign. It utilised distinctive warships, such as the Imperial Star Destroyers, to enforce the Emperor's will and combat various insurgencies against Imperial rule.
