Despayre was a planet in the Outer Rim and was home to an Imperial prison labor complex. It was notable for supporting the construction of the first Death Star, which was assembled in orbit. Upon its completion, Despayre was destroyed by order of Moff Tarkin to test the death star's superlaser.
