The Delta Quadrant is one of the four major divisions of the Milky Way galaxy, as defined by the Federation's stellar cartographers. It is notable for containing Borg territory.
The first discovered point of transportation to the Delta Quadrant was the Barzan Wormhole, which was later determined to be unstable. The disappearance of the Delta Quadrant end of the wormhole marooned a Ferengi shuttlecraft in Delta Quadrant space.
The USS Voyager was transported to the Delta Quadrant by an alien known as the Caretaker. They estimated it would take them approximately 70 years to complete the 70,000 light-year journey back to Earth.
