Warhammer 40,000: Dawn of War is an RTS set in the Warhammer 40,000 universe that is popular among SD.net's population. The *game proved very successful, spawning 3 expansion packs:

  • Winter Assault: First expansion, introduces the Imperial Guard (the normal game had the Space Marines, Forces of Chaos, Eldar and Orks)
  • Dark Crusade: Second expansion which abandons the convention RTS campaign in favor of a risk-style one, and introduces the Tau Empire and Necrons. Praised for the unique campaign, criticized because many fans feel that Nercons and Tau are overpowered.
  • Soul Storm: The expansion that fans prefer to pretend doesn't exist because of the bugs in it and horrible voice acting... oh, and it introduces the Adepta Sororitas and Dark Eldar.
