Communism is a political ideology stemming from the works of Karl Marx.

Marxian Outlook on history

A core part of Communist Ideology is a linier outlook of history based upon the struggle of diferent socio-economic classes as society evolves. This starts with primitive tribal societies in which their is too little for these classes to actually matter to fuedal societies in which things are run by Nobles with clearly established classes of Mechants, Artisans and uneducated serfs and peasants to Capitalist societies in which the relationship are between the wealthy owners of industry and the masses, known as the proletariet. According to Marxian Ideology, this would eventually move towards a state in which a few vast monopolistic corperations run society and the majority of the population exist as increasingly poor workers. Eventually, this inequality would lead to a revolution in which the owners of buissiness were disposed of. After which, capital and investment would be abolished and industry would be nationalized and run democratically via workers' councils. Eventually this society would evolve into a stateless classless society in which everyone works towards the common good.

Communism in practice

Despite the fact that the stateless, classless communistic society that Marx invisioned never existed. Various states founded by adherents to Marxist communist ideology have emerged. Said states that emerged did abolish capital and investment and nationalised industry, but were not democratic and were quite dictoral regiemes.

Critisism of Communism

Among various criticism of communism are based around the tyrannical nature of most communist states and of the shortcommings of centrally regulated command economies.
