Blaster

Blasters are common small arms used in Star Wars. The firepower of blasters varies, and at least some blasters have adjustable power settings. High-powered blasters can blow large chunks out of concrete walls, while low-powered blasters may only cause minor wounds. Some blasters even have a "stun" setting.

Differences From Turbolasers

Luke Skywalker referred to his modified airspeeder as using blasters, indicating that larger versions of blasters exist. However, these should not be confused with turbolasers. Blasters do not appear to be lightspeed weapons, although some evidence exists for their having a faster "invisible" component with the visible portion being waste energy.
