The battle of Hoth was a major battle in the Galactic Civil War
History
After the destruction of the first Death Star, the Rebel Alliance relocated from their base on Yavin 4 and established a stronghold on the uninhabbited world of Hoth. Despite this, Imperial Probe Droids eventually located the base and a fleet led by Darth Vader composed of several Imperial Star Destroyers led by the Executor moved in to destroy the base. Despite having set up a powerful shielding system preventing the Orbiting fleet from directly bombarding the base, the Rebel base established was taken by the Imperial Forces, largely due to the use of AT-AT Walkers. The result was a major defeat, costing them much in the lines of equipment and manpower in a hasty evacuation of the base.
