'''Appearance over performance''' is a [[versus]] debating flaw that assigns superiority based on how a military force ''looks'' instead of what it can ''do''.  The strategy basically amounts to saying "Star Trek technology is sleeker and more futuristic, while Star Wars technology is bulky and crude.
