Television (colloqialy referred to as TV or Telly) is a technology involving the transmission of moving images by electronic signal, either using wires or radio. The first electric television screen was developed by Kenjiro Takayanagi in 1926. Television first emerged as a form of mass media in the late 1930s and exploded in significance in the developed world during the 1950s.
