| 1992 This picture was taken during an annual picnic at Ontario Hydro's CFFTP (Canadian Fusion Fuels Technology Project) offices in Mississauga, when we were still dating. The offices were built in a mansion on a gated estate which was used as a set for the filming of the short-lived "War of the Worlds" television show. | ![]() |

Of course, this was taken on our wedding day. A lot of obstacles were thrown in our way, but when the day came, Rebecca had her chance to be the radiant princess that I always knew her to be. The picture was taken just down the bicycle path from Conrad Grebel College residence, where we met and where we had our wedding ceremony. It's an especially picturesque spot, and it had great sentimental value for us since we had spent many long days strolling through this part of campus. |
| 1993 This picture was taken six months later, in Niagara Falls. Although most people don't go there during the winter time, we thought the falls looked particularly beautiful at that time of year. They're usually iced over, and the coloured spotlights play over the ice at night. | ![]() |

Rebecca and myself hiking on Whistler Mountain in British Columbia later that same year. We went on vacation there after graduating from university. |
| 1994 And this is our little puppy, Fuzzy! This picture was taken in Wallaceburg Ontario, in the tiny house we rented near the high school. | ![]() |

1995 This year we welcomed Matthew into the family! |
| 1996 Matthew, Fuzzy and me in Port Lambton, Ontario. Matthew is trying to grab Fuzzy's face. Luckily, Fuzzy was a very even-tempered dog, and never complained about this kind of treatment. | ![]() |

1997 What childhood would be complete without readings of Dr. Seuss? This picture of Matthew, Fuzzy, and myself was taken in Sombra, Ontario. We had a nice place right on the river, and of all the places we ever lived, that was our favourite. Too bad it had to be so far away from major settlements. |
| 1998 This year we became a family of four, with the addition of our second son David. Unlike Matthew, David was born at home, with the help of a mid-wife. I recommend the mid-wife experience to any expecting parents out there; it is so much more relaxed and humane than the hospital birth experience. | ![]() |

"Dad, this baby isn't coming to stay with us permanently, is he?" |
| 1999 The whole family! We don't really have that many pictures of all five of us, because one of us is usually holding the camera. I don't remember who took this picture for us. Unfortunately, Fuzzy's hair is really long in this picture so you can't really see his face. | ![]() |

Me and the boys, playing on the computer. Never mind the mess. |
| 2000 This was taken after we had our two kids Matthew and David (obviously). This was obviously a Halloween party, held at our kids' school in 2000. We discovered which of our acquaintances was uptight during that party, when one particular parent came up to us and said that Rebecca's nurse costume was too risque for an event where children would be attending. Frankly, I think that's completely ridiculous. I think she looked good, but that was a mid-thigh skirt; women go to work wearing mid-thigh skirts. | ![]() |

David and Matthew playing in the great mounds of autumn leaves that pile up in our backyard every autumn. |
| Matthew and David playing in a laundry basket. That's the great thing about kids at that age. They'll have fun playing with anything. | ![]() |

2001 This is the whole family at the in-laws' place. The bucolic setting is due to the fact that the in-laws' place is a genuine old-fashioned family dairy farm (yes, they actually exist). |
| 2002 Matthew and David both try to blow out the candles on David's birthday cake. As you can see, David is attempting to physically restrain Matthew from interfering. | ![]() |

2003 All four of us at the Metro Toronto Zoo. This is in the African area, if I recall correctly. We have a zoo membership so we get free parking and admission. |
| 2004 Our trip to Disneyland in Anaheim, California. This was the first vacation we had taken in ten years, and the first flying vacation we'd taken since our trip to Vancouver in 1993. We put off personal things like sight seeing for a long time in order to raise our kids on a single income, but it was worth it. And now that the kids are older, we can do more travelling. | ![]() |

2005 The boys and me at the Humber Arboretum in Toronto. Click here to learn more about the Arboretum. It's a park and nature reserve in the north end of Etobicoke, which in turn is located in the west end of Toronto. |
| 2006 The boys at the Hershey Lodge in Hershey, Pennsylvania. This was actually one of our favourite vacations, even though it seems like it's not a very exotic locale. Hershey Pennsylvania is easy to get to, the drive is very scenic, and it's a lot of fun. | ![]() |

2007 Our family trip to Orlando, Florida. This picture was taken on the grounds of the Marriott resort where we were staying. We rented one of those four person bikes and rode around the grounds (quickly discovering that it's more work than you expect, because the boys don't pull their weight). |
| 2008 This is our trip to the Bushkill Pennsylvania, in the Poconos. This picture is actually taken at Bushkill Falls itself, where they have a nice scenic hike in and around the falls. The area is quite beautiful and definitely worth bringing the good camera. | ![]() |

2009 We finally visit the Big Apple! New York, New York. The city is everything it's cracked up to be, and we had a great time. This picture is (obviously) taken on one of the many horse-drawn carriages which offer people rides around Central Park. |
