David and Tara, one of his early playmates. |
All of us sitting on Santa's sleigh! This was obviously a Christmas event. |
From left to right: Matthew, Chantelle, Tara, and David. Chantelle was one of Matthew's classmates at the time, and Tara is her sister. |
Matthew and David playing with the fall leaves. |
My naughty nurse ;) |
This is us at the school Halloween party. One prude at the party told Rebecca that her "naughty nurse" costume was too racy for a school event, but I thought she looked rather fetching ;) |
This is us again at the party, during dinner. |
Fuzzy leaping over my legs while I worked on building a shelf. Matthew
was eager to help.
Matthew sitting on a tractor during our yearly summer visit to the in-laws' house. |
Morgen (Matthew's cousin) and Matthew, both entranced by the magic moving-picture box during the same summer trip. |
Matthew's birthday party. |
The boys sharing a laundry basket! This was taken early in the year, and you can still see a lot of leftover chaos from our move the previous summer. |
Matthew was just the cuddliest little boy. Look at his little pixie face! Everyone always wanted to pick him up and hug him. |
We Canadians laugh at you people who think freezing temperatures are cold. Give us a bit of sunlight and it's downright comfortable out there. |
Matthew and Fuzzy, happy together! |
Matthew and David playing in our bed. It must be nice to be at an age when a blanket is all you need for entertainment. |
Matthew and David loved their fuzzy chairs. |
Yes, I'm Canadian. |
Matthew on one of the rides at Woodbine Mall, which has an indoor amusement park for kids. |
Matthew on another Woodbine Mall ride. |
Matthew and David at the back door. Yes, they really were this cute, and that was not a posed picture. |
They didn't pose for this one either. |
Matthew on his very first beloved bicycle. It was a sad day when the boys outgrew it and we gave it away to the GoodWill store, but perhaps some other kid is riding around on it. |
The boys in a battery-powered toy car. They liked the car, but it was a gift from my parents who bought it on the cheap from Wal-Mart, and it was a one-wheel drive unit. Yes, it didn't even have rear-wheel drive; it had a motor only on the left rear wheel. Needless to say, this car was terrible at negotiating even the tiniest irregularity in the terrain and the boys didn't play with it that much. But they had a Peg Perego battery-powered motorbike that Matthew really enjoyed. That was one-wheel drive too, but it was forgivable in that case. |
OK, this one was posed. |
This was one of those non-powered cars. Didn't seem like a fantastic toy but the boys loved it anyway. That's the great thing about kids; it really doesn't have to be a great toy for them to enjoy it. |
Matthew and me at some kind of retreat. I honestly have no clue where it was,
though.
Matthew (with close-cropped hair) and my weightlifter brother Chris. |
A visit to our old friends Ian and Cynthia Wood, and their kids.
Brothers.
Matthew at the petting zoo! |
David hamming it up. |
