Ugh, yet another purist who's under the delusion that Lucas doesn't think that the EU is part of SW history. Well, though, it is, and Timothy Zahn's work certainly is not garbage. Kevin J. Anderson's is, but not Zahn's.
The movies never mention EU stuff because they supersede the EU stuff.
